There is so much media now with the Internet and people, and so easy and so cheap to start a newspaper or start a magazine, there’s just millions of voices and people wanting to be heard. Rupert Murdoch – Media Tycoon

Gödel wins Norwegian software contract

11/03/2008

Magnetize Development Partner, Gödel Technologies, has been awarded a contract by Norwegian-based ADB Systemer to develop technologies for the oil & gas, construction and healthcare industries.

ADB Systemer provides market-leading process management, procurement and technology solutions to some of the world’s largest organisations including BP and the NHS.

Gödel Technologies, which is headquartered at Manchester Science Park with an office at Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus and two development centres in Belarus, will initially provide a team of five software engineers to work with ADB Systemer, with plans to increase this to ten by the end of the year.

Norway faces an acute skills shortage because of the country’s near 100 per cent employment rate, which makes it difficult for companies to recruit and retain qualified workers.

Jan Edvin Pedersen, managing director of ADB Systemer, which is based in Stavanger, said: “We were looking for a specialist software company that we could outsource some of our software engineering needs to and work with closely as part of our team and help achieve our aggressive growth plans over the next few years.

"Gödel Technologies provides the right blend of talented engineers, enthusiasm and proven expertise."

Terry Bland, managing director of Gödel Technologies, who is already taking lessons at Manchester University to master the Russian language for his work in Belarus, is now working hard to teach himself Norwegian.

"Working with ADB Systemer is a great step for us and we’re excited by the opportunities it gives us. ADB have a very advanced product set and use leading software development methodologies to gain competitive advantage.

"Software is a global language, which means there are few barriers to operating internationally, particularly for a company like ours which is very flexible and already operates across multiple borders."
